How Medlar pricing works: plans and included usage
No credits, no top-ups, no surprise charges. What a plan includes, what a live workflow is, and what happens when the included usage runs out.
An earlier version of this post described credits and top-up packs. Medlar no longer works that way; this is how it works now.
What a plan is priced on
Plans differ by live workflows (saved automations that run on a schedule), connected apps, workspace members and history. Asking the team for something in the app — and every follow-up in that conversation — does not use a workflow slot. Current prices are on the pricing page.
Included usage
Every plan includes a model-usage allowance. A job draws on it according to the work it actually does: a quick lookup uses little, a long job across several apps uses more. That is why there is no promise of a fixed number of jobs per plan — nobody can honestly say what "a job" costs until it has run.
- The app shows how much of the allowance is used, as a percentage, and warns you at 80% and again at 95%.
- Paid allowances renew on the 1st of each month (UTC). Free is a one-time starter allowance.
- Larger plans include a multiple of Solo's allowance.
When it runs out
New work pauses until the allowance renews or you upgrade. Nothing is charged automatically, work already waiting for your approval stays where it is, and nothing in your workspace is removed. There are no top-up packs and no overage fees.
Why it works this way
Pricing by the work done, with a ceiling you can see, keeps the bill predictable for you and keeps the product honest: a limit you only discover by hitting it is how pricing pages lose trust.
